Feast of Assumption

The assumption is remembered by many Christians as the day that the Virgin Mary received into Heaven. It is also memorialized as the Virgin Mary’s heavenly birthday.

The assumption is a nationwide holiday for many countries and celebrated on 15 August. It is a major feast day, an annual religious celebration. After the discovery of the Virgin Mary’s House in Ephesus, the new version of the story has taken part as the event has taken place in Ephesus. This is a new and localized traditional event compared to other locations of assumption.

The House of Mary became an international pilgrimage venue in 1950 when the teaching of Mary's ascension was officially announced.

Golden Pigeon Music Festival is a composition and singing competition. It is an important event for modern Turkish music and has been hosted by Kusadasi Municipality for more than 20 years. During the competition, a music festival held in the streets of Kusadasi with many free concerts from famous artists and fun activities. The festival usually takes place at the end of August, you can have a great time during your visit to Kusadasi.
